I hope hope hope that you will participate. It'll be great fun!

Also, very important here: this data is going to be used. We can monitor the biodiversity around DFW, we can see where and when species exist, we can see which areas have high/low amounts of natural variety. I promise that we also use it to show the policy makers and public land managers this biodiversity AND the people that care about it. They recognize a constituency. So, yes, we need you big time. I hope you'll participate! :)

@mekelle @elexxus_h I know y'all aren't going home this weekend, y'all should forsake the Austin and Houston people by driving to Weatherford and making some observations :P

Posted by madisong about 5 years ago

@sambiology you know I'm not much of a participator…. I guess I "could" make an observation or two in that time frame..... Ha!

Totally stoked! My back pack and camera are ready, as are my sneakers and boots. It is looking like a rain free event for DFW.🤞🏻
Let the fun and craziness begin! 🤪 Take your chigger and mosquito repellents! Stay hydrated!
Let's all have some fun exploring and be safe.

@sambiology Thanks or reminding me yesterday buddy! I will add all the aquatic species possible :) High water is going to make it interesting. ;)

Posted by wilddallas almost 5 years ago

Family in from Wisconsin, so this morning I made them download the iNat app and hike with me for 4 hours while we made observations. I think I've got them hooked!

Posted by naturemom almost 5 years ago

Thank you for including me, Sam. Made a trip to Josey Ranch in Carrollton this morning and just posted my pics.'Deborah

If anyone is available on Monday to help with some aquatic sampling let me know! I have "hot" areas for biodiversity in many corners of the metroplex so i can accomodate different areas if i have extra hands. Two people in addition to myself would be ideal. I have extra dipnets and a seine i could use some help using :). Send me a message on here or text Will at 214-693-0602. We can add a couple dozen species in a day easy!

When is the cutoff for uploads and ids?

Posted by lovebirder almost 5 years ago

Before May 5th, per original post by Sam above

Posted by lpenn almost 5 years ago

Thanks! I guess I didn't look good enough. We'll all be exhausted when this is done, but I love all the hard work folks are putting in on IDs!
