Darkling Beetle - Haplandrus fulvipes (9 mm)
Location: Durham NC (USA)
Found at a pool complex in a woodland--likely came to lights. Captured and measured. Compare to the red-legged form of Xylopinus saperdoides, which is in the same tribe, but larger, glossier, and with a fully-margined basal edge of the pronotum. (Early image of this beetle, but others on BugGuide date to 2005.)
