Extensively browsed flowering beargrass. Height of preference seems to average near 24” off the ground, and ideal phenophase for consumption seems to be just as the flowers are starting to open from the base, as seen in the first photo.

Description

I’m confident it’s a corvid (given toe 2 and 3 hugging each other) and a jay (given size with very narrow tracks), but I don’t know if I can confirm between Steller’s and Canada jay. It is on the small end, which might push the lean towards Canada.

Description

This is the remains of what I believe is a bobcat. Photo 1 is a rear leg. Photo 2 is of a bone. Photo 3 is of scat found at the site. Photo 4 is the tail. Photo 5 is of the site. Photo 6 and 7 are of the foot and photo 8 I am trying to show two of the claws. They are retracted and I had to force them out.

What could kill a bobcat in these parts? Coyote? Mountain Lion?
