Ai is suggesting Bloody Comma. I don’t know. Many of these mixed in with various scriptas and other crustose lichens on Yaupon Holly and in deep shade woodland setting.

Submission is for upper “left” lichen not lower right script lichen. I will re-photograph and submit … as it was raining and specimen was wet. I think this may well be the correct id though.

RLC726 Photo 2 by Bitty Roy, the rest by Bryn Dentinger; used with permission. This fungus-killed wasp is biting the edge of a leaf and was basically at eye level on a leaf on the trail to the Los Cedros river, right after going out the gate from HQ.

Not 100% sure this is allowed, but this from The Walking Dead s4e8 "Too Far Gone". You can hear it between "that" and "but".
Edit for clarification: the toad is in the actual show audio! This is possibly the most famous eastern narrowmouth toad of all time.

This was planted at Watson Preserve by Geraldine Watson, so it will just be a Casual observation, but I wanted to document the discussion that I heard between Joe Liggio, who was leading an orchid walk, and Pauline Singleton, about this plant. Apparently, Geraldine said that she found it growing in the wild on a western bluff of the Neches River north of Spurger, but before you get to the Canyonlands Unit of the Big Thicket. If that is the case, it may very well be native here and might be found in that area again.

This wasp (actually there were two the day before but no photos then) caught my attention because of its ability to hover like a damselfly. Then I noticed the interesting body shape. When it tired of me stalking it, it unhurriedly drifted straight upward until I lost sight of it (both of the wasps the day before did the same thing). Like little helicopters. It took some perseverance to get these photos because the wasp landed only once.
