Inside-Out

Here's an April poem from my book All Graced In Green:

INSIDE OUT

My eyes follow, fierce,
through window glass
the flaw of the winter crow
as it flies from the yard.

The darkness spilled
and wiped up;
now that it’s April,
I’m ready for spring.

Vision turned inward
I watch a man I once knew
row a boat, a black boat
out to sea.

Vision turned outward
I shake leaves from my fingertips,
and hold the door
for flowers.
