Maize information

I tried to do this last week but apparently I'm having my own issues navigating iNaturalist as I don't see the post I thought I had published.

At any rate, there were questions in the biodiversity content session about the history of maize/corn. Here are a few websites that range from interesting background info to more specific crop management techniques. The development of agricultural products is a fascinating story and an interesting way to explore genetic diversity and our exploitation of it in certain taxa. Maize is a good entry point.

Thanks, Tia! i read the Smithsonian article. sounds like the evolution has stopped for the moment in US agriculture if we're always using clones like with apples and pollination i no longer mixing thing up. Sad
