Marin’s winter warblers and their colorful history.

What are warblers? They are members of a particular family of small songbirds, mostly insect-eating and frequently sporting splashes of yellow or other bright colors. Many are summer visitors to North America, with species like the orange-crowned and Wilson’s warblers nesting here in California before heading back to Central America around September.
