I've been diving on Vancouver Island for years and before that out of Vancouver, getting underwater every week when possible! Mostly for night dives these days, but weekend shore and charter dives as well. My favourite part is the amount of animals I get to see on every dive. Even dives that don't seem to have many encounters, there are hundreds of species at least all around. Nothing else I've done topside has that kind of consistency than underwater. I love figuring out the different species and capturing them with video the most. Their behaviours and interactions with others is the best part!

My favourite animals to visit and be visited by are octopuses, sea lions, wolf eels, lumpsuckers, stubby squid, and opalescent squid. In the past few years, I've nearly buried my head in the sand with my favourite buddies while we focused on macro diving. While wide angle video is still my favourite and capturing buddies in the water through the dives, macro has introduced me to so many more animals than I could have imagined.
