I am just naturally botanical, from a very early age. It all started off with woody-fruited things like Banksias and Hakeas on the south side of Perth in the 1960s and progressed to a manic interest in Acacias, and then all plants, and from 1999 all birds and animals as well.

I was Principal Botanist with the Queensland Herbarium, Department of Environment and Heritage, retired in 2011.

Here on iNaturalist I am posting native plants, weeds, plants in botanic gardens and my garden and other planted stuff. Also fungi, birds, reptiles, insects... well everything that is not microscopic or non-tidal-zone marine ( :>).
