I graduated with a BSc in zoology from Imperial College London a long time ago, but went straight into a career in field archaeology. However I've never lost my love of both fauna and flora, though I am not an expert in either, especially in my new home country of Canada. Vancouver Island, British Columbia, is a wonderful place for experiencing nature, though of course it is significantly threatened by environmental loss and degradation, much of it perhaps irreversible. I do my bit by volunteering to help remove invasive vegetation from sensitive habitats around Victoria.
