My name is Wouter van Steenis. I started with hoverflies (Syrphidae) back in 1983. Most of my work deals with Palaearctic Syrphidae. In 2003/2004 I studied the Syrphidae of Nebraska (U.S.A.). For the paper on the Syrphidae of Nebraska, published in 2023, I joined inaturalist to identify the pictures of Nebraskan records.
