I try to travel as much around Western Australia as I can, doing moth surveys as I go. My main interest is the moth fauna of WA with a particular love for the Kimberley.

I have recently been looking at Heliozelidae and Gracillariidae leaf mines and endeavouring to breed out these small moths. In Jan 2024 I was granted a permit to research the leafminers in Kings Park Botanic Gardens. In the first year I am trying to establish how many of these Eucalypts do host Heliozelids and Incurvariids. Heliozelids are extremely host specific. At the moment most of my postings are of active mines, or the inactive mines with a shot hole. A bit repetitive, and boring, I know. As time goes by I will be rearing more of these moths through to adult and these will then be posted. Any parasites will be recorded.
