Been a field biologist at heart since I was a kid. MS in biology. Ecotour guide (especially birds) for the King Ranch from Feb, 2002 through 2019. Starting about 2004 my wife (PhD statistician) and I were approached by a fledgling wind power developer to conduct environmental impact studies, especially avian and bat risk assessments. As a result, we have been directly involved in about 11 gigawatts of wind power being developed, primarily in Texas and Mexico. And no, we did NOT approve every site;-)
I also have an interest in Herpetology, although I am pretty rusty on current taxonomy. I was president of the San Diego Herpetological Society in the early '80's.
I am a US Navy retiree, retiring as a Command Master Chief. As you can assume from my profile picture, I also spent some time as an elephant trainer at the Tulsa Zoo.
