I have loved nature all my life, from pugnacious (a most apt description from Charles L Hogue's "Insects of the Los Angeles Basin") mantids to vibrant bluebirds to ancient, gnarled oaks. Thanks to my mom, a retired nature center director, and my dad, who was a food scientist and avid vegetable gardener. I am a Resource Educator at the Riverside-Corona Resource Conservation District and a former newspaper reporter. My mom and I collaborated on the ID book "Wildflowers and Important Native Plants of the Inland Empire" (2020) published by the Conservation District.
