Growing up on the British Columbian coastline, my interests have always been centered on marine environments. But now that I live in North Texas, exactly in the center of the central migratory flight path, I've been captivated by the majestic and endangered Whooping Crane. My area has been designated by the USGS as a stopover area for the species. Twice a year they pass directly overhead, and often stopover to rest and forage.

I have joined with many of my neighbors to try and protect these few remaining Cranes from the dangers of wind farms proposed for this exact stopover area.
