Welcome to Mrs Bear's Journal.

If you've landed on my journal either accidently or on purpose, welcome! It's the first day of spring here in Tasmania and seems like a good time to start writing.

For background, I'm a generalist trained in botany and currently enjoying orchids and birds. I've worked in agriculture, fisheries, mining and natural resource management in Tasmania and Queensland with particular interest in public education and engagement. I've only been recording observations on inaturalist since April 2021 while recovering from an injury. I decided to focus my observations on the #hungryparrots project in the suburb of Taroona, just south of Hobart. Since then I find my range of species and locations is gradually expanding!

I encourage you to make contact, I'm a life long learner and happy to share my love of flora and fauna in Tasmania. I hope to post a journal entry seasonally, 3 or 4 times a year . Nothing too onerous!
