Fern to 40cm fronds pendulous on rocks with seeping water. Fronds pale to mid green with notably darker mid veins in pinnules. New growth pale to dark pink pinnules heart shaped. Pinnules notably stalked 2mm clear of stipe. Stipe green to pale brown with scattered scales. Scales on rhizome heart shaped brown quite broad. Juvenile plants with ovate pinnnules. Basal pinnules not reduced or only slightly so. Fertile pinnules up to 10mm wide with some at base of frond broader more like infertile pinnules.

Ground fern to 60cm tall fertile fronds taller than infertile ones. Clumping fronds no trunk. Pinnules blue green leathery basal ones sometimes significantly smaller with small lobe on the upper side otherwise truncate at base. New fronds coppery pinkish brown with numerous pale brown scales. Either B. camfeildii with less basal lobes like many it is growing with or a hybrid with B. wattsii
