Found solidary in leaf litter along trail next to alder .
Pileus- flat with uplifted wavy margin, purple fading to brown , rust in depressed center of cap
Gills- attached to stipe ,light purple with brown stains in area touched
Stipe- thick, equal , dry,fibrillose, light purple, slight club shape at base
Smell-sweet
no KOH reaction

Found in Del Norte coastal region growing in troops on decaying oak log
Fruiting Body: vibrant orange, cushion shaped, extremely gelatonous , looks like a brain, shiny, bald no basal portion present

• Woody, conk structure, ungulate form, concentric zones present. Upper surface is a dark brown color, and grows paler towards the margin. Dry, rough texture.
• Porous hymenium, circular, numerous pores presents. White in color, turning a distinct brownish color when disturbed, making it essentially easy to draw on.
• Found growing at the base of a conifer tree (likely Sitka spruce, Picea sitchensis)

Resupinate to bracketed polypore
Dorsal pileus surface undulate, w/ successive zones of seasonal growth.
Hymenophore daedaleoid.
Smell- indistinct
Did not taste

Note : specimen was later analyzed
substrata under basidiocarp revealed texturally stringy white rot. Changed to correct ID.
