Synchronized Preening
Sometimes they just line up perfectly.

Numbers of both genders were present; females were easier to photograph. The audio is of male vocalizations.

Stopped by White Rock Lake to see the eagles and look for a kittiwake... Observed the eagle nest, but struck out on the kittiwake -- saw around 50 Bonaparte's gulls though! :)

Male Wood Duck In A Rain Pool
There were a pair of wood ducks taking advantage of a little rain pool at the back of a meadow. It is mating season & he is looking spiffy.

After the Texas Chapter of Wildlife Society Conference in Houston, I took the long way home to stop through a few forests! Spotted some fun things. :)
