Barely alive. In close proximity to a large dead seal that had been dead a good while. It did rally and head down half to the sea. There were other youngsters swimming about in the clear water close to the beach, quite visible. Larger seals in the deeper ocean. Did see the Seal Rescue vehicle arrive at the lifesaver's building when we left the beach.

Didnt know what to use to ID this. I was on foot with tracker in the Save Conservancy when he pointed out what he said were tree crabs. I could only get pictures of pincers as they were not coming out. What I have just recently found out through some google research into tree crabs turns out that it is very rare so maybe I got it wrong. In India they only recently discovered one called the Kani maranjandu (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/04/new-crab-species-india-weird-wild-animals/) and a publication on Freshwater crabs of Africa has a special coverage of the East Africa tree hole crab called Potamonautes raybouldi.
