It is noted that these are rare, but that's what it appears to be. We have many Red Shouldered hawks in our woods, but it wasn't one of those noisy fellows.
Could also have been a Sharp Shinned? It's legs were white with orange speckles, fluffy feathers.

It appeared to be eating one of our many Tufted Titmouse friends, sadly.
