Description

Not quite sure what this is. It's kinda fuzzy or velvety and fairly solid but still spongy. It didn't bruise and had soft white flesh. Growing out of the roots of a sassafras tree. The first 2 pics are from 3 days ago and the rest today.

Description

A weird time of year for any of the yellow Pluteus mushrooms to fruit. Normally you'd see any of these in the fall to winter. The North American species are not very tolerant of heat. I know this species but can't think of it's name off the top of my head, I'll go back and update this when I'm not so tired
