In the last photo you can see where the pelican was located on an offshore rock at low tide relative to a group of harbour seals.
Didn’t get a good side shot of its beak, but I’m thinking lesser yellowlegs.
Juvenile herring gull?
On pearly everlasting.
This will be new for Sunshine Coast, need help here. Found this individual on the ridge about 100 from Mt. Steele peak, seemed a bit lethargic, flew short distance each time and then landing, photographed first but was able to walk up to it and put net over it, on my return from peak I had possibly another one, flying along ridge, but much faster and not landing. While walking ridge area I only had sun part of time, some large clouds moved through.
