3 mm nose to body rear. Found by dipping a jar of water from the vegetation at the edge of a pond. Does anyone have any information about what is apparently an aquatic fungus growing on the right side of the beetle near it's leg?

2.5 mm nose to body rear. Beetle was swimming underwater while photographed. Found in a water sample taken by dipping a plastic jar into the water of a marshy area next to a peat bog.
