A Orange-headed Epicallima Moth in Warwick.
A Ruby-crowned Kinglet that came into our suet feeders right outside the education office at Norman Bird Sanctuary.
Seen several times every day on suet feeder
I'm trying to make this into a Hoary Redpoll. Any takers?
The bird was a bit paler overall than the other redpolls (group ~60). Seems to have less distinct streaking with reduced contrast on the flanks compared to most of the other redpolls present. The beak is perhaps a bit smaller (2nd photo). The under-tail coverts are all white save the central shaft of the longest (I've read that Hoary can exhibit this, although I'm not sure if it's narrow enough in this case). I've also read that maybe up to 10% of Commons can have little to no streaking on the UTC as well, so IDK. Didn't get a view of the rump.
This one seems to compare favorably to the one that has been repeatedly reported at this location (and accepted on eBird).
Some Common Redpolls at Lonsdale Marsh.
