I need to find and lable my photo of this Cook Forest area. Cooksburg, PA. During and after the Lincoff foray, not in state park but next to it. GPS not working in area, to remote for a signal, so location data is not exact. The closest reference would be past shelter 1 leaving the park next to private cabin.
Growing on Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) log.
Growing gregariously on well decayed hardwood log, probably Red Oak (Quercus rubra) or Red Maple (Acer rubrum).
Odor and taste not recorded.
Found in home garden growing from pine chips. No blue brusing after 30min. Started growing after frost and rain. Other cyanesens "tufts" found around the area.
I'm surprised it took so long to bruse but I attribute that to the cold weather slowing the interaction of enzymes converting psilocin. I'm definitely going to send this off for sequencing though
