Found at the walking trails of Outlook and District Regional Park. Area is highly disturbed native prairie, with patches of smooth brome and crested wheat grass invading . As well as weedy areas with thistles and babies breath.
Site is the East bank of the South Saskatchewan River. Soil is a sandy loam. Vegetation is a mix of tree and shrub in coulees (lower slope), followed by short shrub and grass mid slope and shortgrass prairie top slope. (Green ash, chokecherry, Saskatoon, Manchurian elms, Manitoba maple - to - snowberry, smooth brome, crested wheat grass, wheat grass, sand reed grass - to - blue grama, June grass, carex sp.)

Leaves are dense at the base, blades are tightly rolled, distinctive shoulder for the sheath, leaf blades are side by side with very little space between them at the bottom.
Blue tinged.
