Single individual
One of two sites in the area (I couldn’t find the other) seems to be doing fairly well with several small individuals that seem to have come from seed eg photo 3
Unmown lawn has let the flower heads grow 200mm above the ground. Flowers are purple. Flower stem has right angle joint (photo 7) where it heads skyward. The top most leaf on the flower stems are very fine, short leaves, flat against the stalk. There is a second straight joint about 1/2 up the flower stem from the ground. Tracing the leaves/plant in a mixed lawn is difficult. The stem along the ground can be at least 50mm long before it joins to the main plant (or I give up trying to uncover the main plant!). Soft, short (50mm), narrow leaves (?2-4mm) all grow upwards from the ground making it difficult to distinguish each plant.
