These have invaded my home. I can't find a source (although accept there must be one!) And as fast as I get rid of them they are coming back the next day.
Possibly Stigmatogaster subterranea?

A young smooth newt (I think), still with its gills that we found in amongst the pondweed in the pond (believe it or not). About 4cm long. Very cute wee thing!

On Elm (Ulmus sp) leaves
Apologies for the slightly grim photos, but that’s nature I guess! Found these beautiful flies on a not so beautiful dead chick. I guess it had fallen out of a tree nearby and had been knocked into the centre of the lawn by a cat or something? Anyway, there were lots of these flies on the carcass. Cue “Circle of Life” Lion King intro...
