I also have no idea what this is. I thought it was a plastic bead to start with when i found it on the beach. It is very hard. But it's shape etc made me wonder. It almost looks like a weird pea. But maybe it is plastic? Any identification help appreciated. Thanks.

Natural or not?

Don’t know what this is: Alex thought it might be frogs eggs or slug eggs, but it was a huge mass over half a metre long in the vegetable patch. I wondered if it was some sort of hygroscopic gel - but no one put anything there. That leaves some sort of slime mould or fungus - but no hyphae just -little eggs-. In a jar it lasted for about a week before simply drying out.
