Description

This one is a little hard to see but these birds were seen sitting on top of a tree which I found a bit unusual. I spotted them at Woodbridge Park by the lake. It was sunny and partially windy and the temperature was around 50° F. After viewing the numerous images, I believe these might be black-bellied whistling ducks but I’m not sure.

Description

The brown bird with its wings spread invaded these gulls’ rock. I’m unsure of its species but from the moment it landed, it just waddled around with its wings spread. To me, it feels like it is trying to assert dominance or look for a mate, but again, I am unsure. It was very silly and interesting to observe though. This bird was spotted at Heritage Park, an urban park in Irvine, on top of the rock that was mainly used by gulls before it came and seemingly scared a few of them away. The weather was sunny with a little wind and the temperature was around 50° F.
