ID supplied by: James Smith, South Australia Museum (Thanks James!)
I took this pic when I was walking on Heysen trail between Cornvale Road-Oaklyn Road Hamilton, in daytime.
I had inadvertently knocked over an upright, 4’ high, 5” diameter, broken, dead, hollow tree.
About ½ dozen of these came out and all but this one flew away.
This one was stunned & frozen in fear.
I picked it up to stop my dog getting it!
It soon flew away.
Have subsequently been advised (by James) about the risk of handling bats!
