Description

Al llegar al parque observé a una señora que realiza limpieza pública señalando algo con la escoba y era a este pichón de gavilán acanelado. Inicialmente pensé que era juvenil y que quizás tuvo un accidente. Lo examiné lo más cerca que pude y vi que no tenía alas ni patas con maltrato, pero tenía una mancha de plumas blancas sobre la nuca, entonces pensé que había caído y se había golpeado allí, pero no mostró comportamiento extraño (he visto palomas que se han golpeado la cabeza al caer y se mueven como atontadas).
Intentó volar dos veces, pero no logró elevarse, así que sólo se alejaba dando saltos largos de algo más de 1 m. Lo "observé" y se alejó en dirección a un árbol que logró trepar hasta llegar a unos 18 a 20 m donde se ocultó y empezó a piar bajo de rato en rato. Me imagino que esperará a sus padres.
Me parece que ya tiene plumas desarrolladas y que sólo le falta aprender a usar las alas. Hizo varios intentos desde tierra pero no subía. Por eso empezó a avanzar a saltos hacia un árbol que tenía nudos en la corteza. Va a tener que aprender a volar para volver al nido. Se que en el nido hay cuando menos uno más. He visto movimientos de dos pichones un par de veces. Ahora está escondido en la copa del árbol. Sabe que hacer.
Me comentaron que podía estar enfermo y en realidad no lo creo, no lo vi débil. Pudo trepar el árbol con facilidad. Creo que simplemente cayó accidentalmente y aún no sabe volar.
Como antecedente, casi todos los días visito ese parque. Hay un nido en un árbol que creo es un aliso muy alto. Con mucha frecuencia veo a los adultos y esta es la segunda "camada" que observo. En la anterior he visto que tenían 3 pichones. Incluso he visto a la pareja apareándose y un tiempo después he llegado a ver que uno de los adultos atacaba a uno de sus juveniles hasta hacerlo caer a tierra. Desde esa fecha los juveniles dejaron de estar cerca del nido y de piar.
Cuando me alejaba vi en el nido al otro pichón. Pero lo que me sorprendió fue ver al que creo es el macho al lado del nido. Estuvo en silencio hasta que lo vi y me dirigió un grito. Los adultos me conocen porque me ven con frecuencia. No me imagino cómo resolverán el problema. Lamentablemente ya me tuve que ir.
