a dark bird with mottling on its rear end and a pointy yellow beak on power lines and singing a variety of songs (photos 1 and 2). this was the only one that i noticed on power lines, but there were several bathing in a ditch to the east (with grackles, photos 3 to 7).

I spotted what I believe to be a Brown Anole outside of Colonial Park in West U. It is about 5-6 inches long and is a dark brown color with light brown spots scattered on its head, back, and legs.
