(FA18) Found growing out of water between a bog and a forest. Inflorescence looks like a two parted fruit, with a large, brown, cylindrical/corn-dog shaped bottom, and a small, skinny white tip. Green and brown stems and leaves. Leaves are very long, narrow, and with parallel venation. Leaf base appears to be sheathing.

Fruit arranged along large stem in groups of 1-3. Fruit is blueish-gray in color and appears to be a drupe when crushed.

Discoid inflorescence contains numerous, small, pale violet or pale blue in color, 5-merous flowers with long styles. 5 Corollas arranged in a tubular shape. Leaves are closer to ground and are absent towards top of stem. Leaves simple with slightly toothed/dentate margins, arranged opposite (one leaf missing in picture, but petiole is present).

Description

(FA12) Found as a woody vine in a pine forest. Leaves appear to be simple with entire margins, arranged alternately and with palmate venation. Leaves also have short petioles and are cordately shaped. Tendrils are thick and individual tendrils are both straight at some points and spiral at others. Lacks prickles or other armor, possesses single-seeded red-orange berries arranged in groups coming from a single branched node.
