Habitat: Open Sclerophyll Woodland, growing in a stand of middle-aged Eucalyptus robusta x Eucalyptus tereticornis. Cespitose to gregarious, hiding amongst leaf litter and native grass
Pileus: Pale apricot to orange, with an irregularly lobed, involute margin. Largest specimens ~6cm diameter
Lamellae: Decurrent ‘false gills’, which are ochraceus (brownish-yellow)
Stipe: Bare, with a yellow outer layer (same as gills) that scratches or washes away to reveal solid, cream coloured inner flesh. Stipe is often buried deep underground. Location of stipe is central to eccentric
Texture: Solid
Taste/Odour: Fruity
