Fish were sampled as part of an IBI stream assessment conducted by Cleveland Metroparks staff.
Looks like Silphium integrifolium, which grows nearby, but this specimen has whorled leaves. There is a whorled rosinweed, S. trifoliatum or S. asteriscus but that is not found in northern Illinois, so I am thinking this is just an unusual specimen of S. integrifolium.
Huge chunky Osmia on chokecherry in a field. Foxy rufous color, large hairless area above clypeal horns, no central clypeal knob.

These bees were a few inches off the ground on Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia)
vines. The first 17 photos are all of one pair. The last two photos have a second pair. The pair in the background in the second to last photo and in the last photo are the second pair (with another male approaching them).
