Description
Some grew up from the ground while the opposite end grew back underground (buried on both ends) while others came out of the ground and had pointed, bulbous ends. Growing around the base of a hickory tree (I think) but not sure if interacting with it. Found numerous and a few more down the trail. Have no idea if these are plant sprouts or mushrooms. ????

Was considering rainbow darter, but this has fewer than 13 pectoral rays, and the locality is more appropriate for the spectabile complex I believe.
Was considering plains Orangethroat (sp. cf. pulchellum), but plateau fits locality a bit better. The specimen also has 3 saddles darker than the rest and some scales on cheek.

I have no idea what this is. There's entire orders of tiny arthropods I'm not familiar with beyond name and general morphology, but still, it's strange to get good clean shots of a thing and still have no idea what I'm looking at.
