Description
The owl was in a maple tree outside my front door. Well camouflaged, only saw it because 2 crows were noisily harassing it in the tree. Stayed for an hour, relocated to different branch, then to edge of garage roof. I live on an open field that was mowed last week so hawk and fox hunting activity has increased. Northern harrier seen 3 days in a row.

Two guys stating they were doing research for NOAA at Nobska Beach - reeled in this shark using multiple poles anchored in the sand at the beach, shark measured 86” I believe but was not tagged like they typically do with individuals that they find or reel in. Caught from past the buoy’s and they said they caught another recently - was released after being measured

Perhaps P. lamprosana or P. limitata. Or perhaps an Archips species. It was still alive after "the extraction" at my local emergency room at 2AM.
This specimen entered during nighttime observations at my lights. I could not for the life of me get it to fly out. (Hey, it happens.) So my gratitude goes to Dr. Kelvey Wilson and the staff at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont.
(While this moth was in my ear, my speculation on its identity was Microcrambus elegans.)

Saw 2 adults & a baby! Only was able to capture this adult individual. They were close to shore & beyond the protected area of the beach, roaming around and would randomly sit in a dip in the sand.

Found this cocoon mid February and have been keeping it safe in a jar with air since then, it finally decided to hatch!! Checked on the jar and it was already out of the cocoon ready to spread its wings - sat for a while to get its bearings then I transferred it to a Sweetgum tree right next to where it hatched. Took 3 hours total to chill out, walk up the tree, move its wings on a high branch and then fly off at night (around 10:30pm it finally flew away). Such a special experience!

Found this lil one which I have never seen a color morph like this for a Mud snake. I determined it to be one based off the visual/physical features such as the “tail spine”, pattern, head/eye shape, as well as a divided anal plate.

On Ulmus americana
Co-discovered with @pantherophis (shown in last photo) on first American Elm we inspected on a trip to Vermont.
As far as we know, this is the first observation of EZS in Vermont. Other EZS were found throughout the day and will be uploaded to iNat.
