Notable observation (by a birder recently and water dept staff) of first successful COLO fledging on Flint's Pond since possibly the time of Thoreau. Last year's nesting failed. Two eggs this year; one hatched. Small breeding range expansion into metro East possibly from Lake Hopkinton (Whitehall Reservoir) or Wachusett Reservoir.
