Description
There were so many caterpillars on my milkweed I had to go buy more. They devoured 6 milkweed plants back to the stems! So far I have found 9 chrysalis.

Roosting for the night. I don't see it every year here, but no doubt when conditions are right, Monarchs migrate through the eastern NM counties more than we may know. I saw good numbers flying earlier in the day elsewhere in Lea County. To be submitted to Journey North as well

Description
Dead - found lying on sandy beach in strand line. A little surprised to see this as I have not seen this species on the Chatham Islands before and I have been going out there since 1996. However, the host plant (Gomphocarpus physocarpus) is on the island in private gardens - so there is no reason why this species should not be resident on the Chatham Islands.
