I watched this bee browse Acmispon for a while until it noticed me and flew into what looked like a gopher hole. I can upload a picture of that hole it flew into.
Edit: added the hole it flew into. There’s even a lizard for some sense of scale. It looked like a rodent burrow. I noticed the bee fly into this hole twice, once on my hike in, once on my hike out.
Small female foraging at highbush blueberry in shrub swamp/bog.
About 1 inch in length.
Gazed nonchalantly into my eyes. Peed unapologetically on my patio. Hopped away, denying any issues with incontinence.
What a great first impression.
This bee really appreciated the New England Aster
Found on Equisetum hyemale/scouring rush in a marshy wet area. Dozens of them, mostly hanging out on or near the strobili.
