This bird has been visiting almost daily since at least Jan. 17. Last year a western meadowlark was seen in a nearby field in mid-January for ~5 days. Not sure, of course, if this is the same bird from last year, but this stay is much longer. It's been a joy to observe.

I watched this Ichneumonid wasp ovipositing on tree bark and it was easily the weirdest/coolest insect behavior I have seen. Those ovipositors are just unreasonably, preposterously long.
