@kevinfaccenda i saw this one back in April 2021. Thought I had uploaded it here but must’ve forgot. Pretty sure this is a different individual from the one I posted recently. From what I remember it was up near the top of the ridge, whereas the more recent one was halfway down the side.

Glaucous, culms 2-3 m, margins harshly scabrous, ligules ~4mm, single homogamous pair on lower rame branch. Blonde-to-clear pubescence on spikelets. pedicel tooth awl-shaped (see photo 11). Specimens incredibly robust relative to W.D. Clayton's description. Clayton describes H. hirta as "...flowering culms wiry, typically 30-60 cm. high (1m or more in exceptionally robust plants), standing over a dense leafy tussock 10-20 cm high." Can anyone explain? No other species makes sense... Photos were taken between August-November 2023. Fully mature in Nov.

We were asked by local guides not to share the precise location of any photos from the trip since we were going to some private/secret/sacred locations throughout the week that see trespassers often. I figured it would be better to be overprotective rather than accidentally share something I shouldn't have, so I have edited the accuracy to cover most of the island.
