On what I think is young Kalmia angustifolia. Odd host; area full of Vaccinium angustifolium. Perhaps late stage wandering?

Outside texture fuzzy like a subtler version of staghorn sumac fruiting body. Inside very spongy and delicate; difficult to cut without compressing even with a brand new razor blade.
Tiny, beautiful, and very active. Only got the one shot when if briefly landed.
Same exact wall as a Pyrausta tyralis last year. Zoomed out photo for scale (roughly 5" lap on cedar shingles).
