Squirrel with white fur and black eyes found near the UNC Asheville campus

Note: this is a rare variety of eastern grey squirrel found in western NC that has a genetic mutation for white fur. It does not have albinism as its eyes do not lack melanin.

This was the first night of spotting a single blue ghost, he's returned every night for the last week at approx. 9:45pm every time. Location is a seep area created by a healthy spring feeding a pond. Long exposure image showing the distinct trail of a non-blinking firefly.

Found outside of Laurel Hall, seemed to be struggling on the concrete. I let them crawl onto my hand where they sat and let me look at them.
It had something strange attached to it, I couldn't identify whether it was an appendage or not.
Poor thing was struggling to fly, and I didn't want it to get crushed, so I left them under a tree out of the way of possibly being stepped on.
