Gametophyte tiny with sporophyte taking majority of size of individual. Sporophytes with orange-brown seta and deep to bright red capsules, somewhat translucent. growing amongst other initial colonizers, such as several lichens including Cladonia. Temperature 40 degrees F and rainy rainy rainy.
