I've seen this plant so many times in South Texas...but this is the first time that I found one that's blooming!
I searched for more but this was the only one that I found yesterday.
The second picture is UV flora, aka Bee Vision. Just as I thought, the UV colors of this flower is amazing!

Observed the most butterfly activity ever on this non-native species which I have been observing for greater than 10 years in various landscapes. There were at least 6 species present. Five are shown in observations. No photo of 6th: Horace's Duskywing.
Possible contributing factors: uptick in butterflies numbers and fresh blossoms due to 2 inches of rain in last 6 days. Various lantana species and varieties(mostly non-native) are the primary nectar sources for butterflies in mid-summer in most of San Antonio You can not be chosey as in the spring bloom.

Update on 7/19: I saw at least 10 more clusters of broomrape along the trails, mostly hidden under the Toothleaf Goldeneye (Viguiera dentata). Some of my photos were identified as Louisiana broomrape (Aphyllon ludovicianum) and others as Desert broomrape.
