I'm not really interested in the arrow arum here, which is probably the most common large plant in this wetland, but in the yellow stuff that looks like a fungus. I've been noticing it in arrowhead leaves in the Bashakill for years now. The leaves that are affected grow taller than unaffected leaves but can look distorted. I assume this is a strategy to spread spores. It seems to follow the central vein and erupt to the surface on both sides of the leaf. It occurs rarely in most of the wetland but is more common in the northern channel near Route 17. If anyone knows the name of this stuff and more about it please let me know.
