Found in this Sweetbay Magnolia tree.
After figuring out this species hasn’t really been documented(if so, not much) in Florida, I went out to the same tree as the original observation to try and locate another specimen, which resulted in me finding two very similar specimens further down the tree at about 10’ off the ground, in the same small piece of wood only a few cm apart from each other, which are included in the observation you are currently on and this one.

Saw this Young male Bat falcon at the North entrance of Santa Ana national wildlife refuge by the power lines where it was originally perching before being driven away and into the mesquite by a kestrel.
